Resident Storyteller

John Arroyo is a public historian who specializes on Los Angeles and its social, cultural, and architectural history.   A proud native, he has worked with The Getty Foundation, Los Angeles Conservancy, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and most recently the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.   He is also a docent for the Los Angeles Conservancy and El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, and serves on the board of the Highland Park Heritage Trust.   Currently he is coordinating public programs for La Plaza de Cultura y Artes, the forthcoming Mexican American cultural complex opening in the fall of 2007 at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument.
